The healthcare sector in India is witnessing a paradigm shift, driven by advancements in digital health, increased vaccine production, and improved healthcare infrastructure. India is emerging as a leader in holistic healthcare and is becoming a prominent voice in the Global South. However, significant challenges remain, including rising costs of quality access and outcomes, capacity constraints—especially at the grassroots level—and a growing mental health crisis, along with an overreliance on tertiary care settings. Primus is actively working across both the private and public sectors, including at the central and state levels, to drive meaningful change.

Area in Focus

We focus on climate-resilient infrastructure by engaging as a Knowledge Partner for the Climate and Health Multi-Stakeholder Conclave. Our efforts include preparing discussion papers to mobilize support for health-climate action and releasing a white paper on the One Health agenda. We emphasize the "3Cs"—Collaboration, Cooperation, Communication—while mapping key sectors and their roles in advancing climate-health initiatives.

We provide project monitoring support to central and state health departments by assisting in the deployment of a PMIS system for monitoring drug inventory, construction, and procurement. Our efforts focus on streamlining IT initiatives within the health department, strengthening the IHIP-IDSP platform, and integrating data from One Health, LIMS, and climate change surveillance platforms with IHIP.

We focus on strengthening the governance framework and institutional capacity of organizations such as regional health centres. Our work involves enhancing institutional capacity and organizational restructuring to improve efficiency in project management. We assist state health departments in optimizing program outcomes and introducing policies that positively impact the health sector at the state level.

We support the formulation, dissemination, and implementation of flagship healthcare schemes, including a comprehensive medical city initiative. Our role as Transaction Advisory services for a significant medical college and hospital project ensures effective public-private partnerships. We focus on enhancing public health service quality, expanding primary healthcare utilization, and building responsive systems to better serve community health needs.
